Morels: Morels (Morchella) are wild edible mushrooms found in in damp and shady areas around the base of pine and apple trees in the Northern Areas of Pakistan in the Himalayan, Karakoram and Hindu Kush Mountains. Morels are one of the most prized wild mushrooms and are highly regarded for their exceptional taste and enjoy a gourmet status. Not only that Pakistan is one of the largest exporters, morels from Pakistan are very highly regarded in the International market. The following types of morels are found in Pakistan: S Common Name Scientific Name Approx. %age of Collection 1 Conical Morel M. conica 48% 2 Common morel M. esculenta 32% 3 Rounded morel M. rotunda 6% 4 Tulip morel/white morel M. deliciosa 7% 5 Half-free morel M. semilibera 3% 6 Black morel M. elata 2% 7 Thick-footed morel M. crassipes 2% As evident from the approx. %age collection, most abundantly available and supplied morel from Pakistan is the Conical Morel (Morchella Conica) and the Common Morel (Morchella Esculenta). Applicable Standard: Codex Stan 38-1981 is employed for packing, storage and shipping of morels supplied by Crown Tradex. Dust Removal: Morel are hand-picked, occasionally there is dust and sand trapped in their folds. At crown we use chilled dry and oil free compressed air in specially designed chamber to remove foreign matter, dust, sand and other externalities from the product. Autoclaving: Autoclaving facility through gamma radiation is available on request, additional charges may apply Packing: 1. 10 kg packed in vacuum sealed Polyethylene bag packed in a 7 Ply corrugated carton 2. Custom packing according to customers requirement can also be arranged, additional charges may apply. 3. All Morels are packed with sand bags fully removed.
